    Trump targets ActBlue for investigation of straw donors

    President Trump is focusing on ActBlue, the most important on-line donation platform utilized by Democrats, by cracking down on “straw donors” or international marketing campaign contributions, which he says the location has been concerned in.

    Mr. Trump signed a memorandum Thursday directing Lawyer Common Pam Bondi to research allegations of utilizing on-line fundraising platforms to make “straw” or “dummy” donations or international contributions in U.S. elections.

    “President Trump is taking motion to handle malign actors and international nationals who search to illegally affect American elections, undermining the integrity of our electoral course of,” a reality sheet of the order says.

    Donations from international nationals are unlawful, and prohibited by the Federal Election Fee.

    The memo particularly cites ActBlue and alleges that “tons of of ActBlue donations from international IP addresses utilizing pay as you go playing cards” had been revamped 30 days through the 2024 election.
