    Caitlin Clark says flagrant foul for shoving Angel Reese was not ‘malicious’

    INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – The Caitlin Clark–Angel Reese rivalry added one other chapter Saturday when Reese took exception to Clark’s exhausting foul with 4:38 left within the third quarter because the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky opened their seasons.

    After Reese grabbed an offensive rebound, Clark slapped Reese throughout the arm, knocking the ball away and Reese to the ground. Reese then jumped up and confronted Clark as Fever middle Aliyah Boston jumped in between the 2 gamers.

    Following a replay evaluate, the referees upgraded the foul to a flagrant one and referred to as double technical fouls on Boston and Reese.

    It was Clark’s third private foul.

    Throughout an in-game interview with ESPN, Clark mentioned there was “nothing malicious” in regards to the foul and referred to as it a “basketball play.”

    When Reese missed the primary of two throws, Gainbridge Fieldhouse erupted in cheers. Reese made the second, although, and Chicago added a layup on the following possession to chop the deficit to 56-45.

    Clark had 12 factors, 4 rebounds, three assists and a career-high tying three blocks within the first half. Reese had seven factors and 9 rebounds by the primary two quarters.
