CNN’s chief information analyst Harry Enten highlighted simply how traditionally distinctive the 15% drop within the S&P 500 inventory market index is, a plunge sparked by uncertainty over Donald Trump’s incoming tariffs.
Enten wasn’t shopping for Republican spin that the dip is “fairly regular stuff.”
“If that is fairly regular stuff, I’d wish to know what not regular stuff is,” he quipped. “If this can be a growth, I’d wish to know what a bust is.”
Trump is the one president ever “to see a drop of 15% this quickly into his presidency within the S&P 500 after inheriting a bull market,” Enten famous.
The one different president to see an identical early-term drop was George W. Bush in 2001, he famous. However Bush inherited a collapsing dot-com bubble and never the robust market that welcomed Trump, Enten defined.
“That is actually distinctive,” Enten flagged. “Whenever you are available in with a bull market after which growth! Proper by means of the ground. Donald Trump, the S&P 500 dropping already 15%.”
