An anti-Trump Republican group says its new viral video exposes GOP “hypocrisy at its ugliest.”
The Republican Accountability Undertaking launched a brand new supercut this week that includes a montage of Republican senators ―together with now-Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Sens. Ted Cruz (Texas), Lindsey Graham (S.C.), and Ron Johnson (Wis.), and others ― as soon as vocally slamming tariffs as “a tax on Individuals” and a jobs-killer that can in the end “hurt America shoppers.”
It starkly contrasts with their now largely falling in line behind President Donald Trump’s newly introduced tariff plans.
“These politicians spent their careers combating tariffs,” the Republican group posted on social media. “Now Trump snaps his fingers, and so they can’t promote out quick sufficient.”
Sarah Longwell, longtime GOP strategist and president of the Republican Accountability PAC, added her own take: “Oh wait. All these Republicans stated tariffs had been horrible like 5 minutes in the past. Surprise why they modified their minds?”
