    Jamie Raskin Slams ‘DUI Hire’ Pete Hegseth

    Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) took a shot at Protection Secretary Pete Hegseth on Saturday forward of President Donald Trump’s military parade.

    Raskin appeared on MSNBC’s “The Weekend” to weigh in on a solution Hegseth gave to Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) at a listening to Thursday. The secretary of protection was requested if he would “respect any Supreme Court docket resolution” that prevented the Marines from being deployed at protests on U.S. soil.

    “What I can say is we must always not have native judges figuring out overseas coverage or nationwide safety coverage for the nation,” Hegseth mentioned.

    The Maryland Democrat’s feedback got here forward of Trump’s navy parade and amid nationwide “No Kings” protests on Saturday. The president beforehand threatened that protestors on the parade could be met with “very heavy force.”

    Raskin addressed that remark, together with different latest assaults on dissent from the Trump administration, together with Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) being handcuffed at Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s press conference and Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-N.J.)
