President Donald Trump dismissed the controversy round posting an AI-generated image of himself because the pope.
A picture of Trump in full papal regalia — white cassock, headpiece and gold crucifix — was posted on-line Friday by the president and on official White Home social media accounts.
Catholic officers variously described the depiction as “deeply offensive,” “unhappy” and “unlucky.”
Trump had earlier joked that he’d “prefer to be pope” following Pope Francis’ loss of life on April 21.
When requested by a reporter Monday about Catholics who could be sad with the picture, Trump shot again that it was the “faux information” who “can’t take a joke.”
“The Catholics beloved it,” he insisted.
The president went on: “I don’t know the place it got here from. Perhaps it was AI, however I do know nothing about it. I simply noticed it final night. Really, my spouse thought it was cute.”
Trump then mulled how the papacy may have an effect on his marriage.
“To the perfect of my information, popes aren’t huge on getting married,” he stated with a smile to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who was standing subsequent to Trump for an occasion confirming the 2027 draft will happen in Washington, D.C.
When pressed on whether or not the White Home posting a picture of Trump as pope undermined its credibility, the president replied, “Give me a break.”
