The Trump administration posted an anti-immigration Valentine’s Day message to mark the vacation on its official White Home social media pages Friday, making mild of President Donald Trump’s pledge to hold out mass deportations throughout the nation.

Towards a cheerful pink background seem the floating heads of Trump and Tom Homan, who as border czar helps lead the administration’s deportation efforts.

The cardboard comes with an unsightly message: “Roses are purple / Violets are blue / Come right here illegally / And we’ll deport you.”

Trump has enabled immigration authorities to fast-track deportations, elevating critics’ fears that he’s bypassing the due course of protections assured by the Structure. Whereas lots of of migrants have been deported since he took workplace in January, Trump is reportedly angry that the determine isn’t larger.

Dozens of migrants have been moved to Guantanamo Bay, the navy detention camp that Trump ordered to be expanded to accommodate 30,000 people he calls “the worst felony aliens.”

The administration’s threats in opposition to migrants drew a rebuke this week from Pope Francis; the pontiff mentioned the mass detention or deportation plans constituted a “main disaster” that he was watching carefully.

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus responded to the White Home “valentine” with a sober message: “You might not take your job significantly, however we do.”

“Your deportations are inhumane, they’re killing the American financial system and so they’re separating our households,” the group wrote on X.

Many prime commenters on Instagram reacted with incredulity on the White Home put up.

Among the many hottest responses, with almost 30,000 likes, was the comment: ”[T]his is an insane factor to put up from a authorities account.”
